oh christmas tree and onos

oh christmas tree and onos

I slept until ten, which was exactly what my body asked for even if my throat and head were staging a minor rebellion. Jannis muttered things under his breath which I do not wish to repeat neither in written nor mental form, so you’ll just have to keep forever wondering what could have possible made me cry, alternately in the shower, wrapped in towels, under the covers, in his arms, on the couch. (We’re good)

By noon we finally made it out to the Mercado. For eight euros I came back with a ridiculous haul: potatoes, everything for a pisto, bananas, kiwis. Then a quick stop at Carrefour for the rest of the pisto supplies, Onos, ramen, Chinese noodles, pasta with broccoli and mushrooms. Jannis swung by Día for a napo, juice, and water, leaving me to unpack my half of the suitcase.

Brunch at two was perfection: Kiwi and yogurt, a yoghurt drink, café con leche, tea, porridge with banana, napolitana, and chocolate cornflakes. And obvs la que se avecina. We sprawled across the couch, alternating between scrolling and ticking off little tasks: signing up for the Spanish course, setting up Trade Republic. I felt like a proper adult who knew very little—and understood even less about where my money had just gone.

We do have Christmas trees we grew ourselves tho. So take that (idk)

Jannis went out again to grab the ingredients we’d forgotten for tonight’s ramen while I organized luggage remnants and drafted a quick Instagram post. When he got back, he cooked, and I sat there heheh <33333. I read, he programmed, then the ramen was raming—hot, steaming, comforting. We ate, la que se avecina in the background, and dessert followed ofc: islacao, grapes, Lindt chocolate.

Afterwards, I prepped the Onos I now can’t live without apparently (spoiler: this obsession last approximately 2 weeks), warm blankets, bed, YouTube, a second round of porridge because apparently my stomach has expanded from the 12 courses I had each day. La que se avecina kept running, filling the spaces between bites, between coding, and eventually sleep. When Jannis went to bed, I did nearly dislocate his shoulder. Jannis typed away until three and I found the tipping and typing very relaxing indeed.

Here’s a lifechanging never done before recipe (very Spanish Abuela style) for onos:

· Cup of oats

· 2 tbs chia seeds

· 1 grated apple

· Cinnamon

· Pb

· Greek yog

· Milk

· Raisins

Best to just add everything into leftover Greek yogurt in a bucket
